ABINGDON OPERATIC SOCIETY

2008 Marked the 50th Anniversary of the formation of the Abingdon Operatic Society. Hence the "Golden" reference in the title of this concert.The Society began as a choir in 1956/7 at the Atomic Energy Research Establishment Harwell under the Baton of Ben Kingdon and was made up of scientists, engineers and administrators, working on the site.The Society is now based in Abingdon and now stage all kinds of musical performances such as 'The wizard of Oz' and 'My Fair Lady' to name but a few.
